Is bikini or Brazilian laser hair removal embarrassing for you?

We continue to see trends in shaving and grooming intimate areas. In the 70s and 80s, having hair down there was quite often celebrated. Today, the current trend is to limit the amount of hair by keeping it tightly trimmed, leaving only a landing strip, or removing the hair altogether.

We continue to see trends in shaving and grooming intimate areas. In the 70s and 80s, having hair down there was quite often celebrated. Today, the current trend is to limit the amount of hair by keeping it tightly trimmed, leaving only a landing strip, or removing the hair altogether.

For many women, this requires frequent shaving. Not only is this time-consuming, but it also results in razor burn, ingrown hairs, and even painful cuts. The physical pain from waxing is even worse.

Not only is LHR less painful, but if done correctly it can be permanent. Through a consistent series of 6 to 12 treatments, 70 – 90% of your hair follicles should be effectively destroyed and will not grow hair again.

In addition, did you know that single use razors are one of the biggest landfill wastes produced by Americans? LHR eliminates unnecessary materials and packaging. It is an eco-friendly service that produces far less waste and therefore less damage to our planet.

With the arrival of summer, I have booked more bikini laser hair removal treatments than any other area. Despite this being my profession of choice, many women are still visibly uncomfortable or even embarrassed about the treatment and that is completely normal.

Some helpful information and simple measures we can take to make you more comfortable during your bikini area laser hair removal treatment:

  1. I’m the sole owner and operator at my business. I’m the only technician you will be seeing throughout the course of treatment and by the second session, the majority of my clients already feel much more at ease.
  2. For the most efficacious treatment, its advised that you shave the day before or day of your treatment so remember you will be as clean shaven as possible.
  3. I always leave a larger towel or two out so we can cover sections we aren’t actively lasering.
  4. I encourage clients to do something to distract themselves. Scroll through your phone or bring headphones and listen to music. Once they have gotten to know me at the first session, most of my repeat clients and I spend the following sessions chatting which makes the process go by much quicker.
  5. Plus, remember that I chose to go into this line of business. If it can be lasered, I’ve had it done by a technician myself!

Many women assume they have more hair than usual and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The truth is most women have pretty average/normal hair growth patterns that are pretty much the same across the board.

Also, as soon as you start to see results, you will begin to feel less self-conscious. I administer these treatments every day…it’s just another day at the office for me as an experienced laser practitioner.

Bikini vs. Brazilian Laser Hair Removal: Which Should I Choose?

I get this question often, and my response is always the same – it’s totally up to you! The two treatments differ only in the area/amount of hair that is being removed.

  • Bikini line laser hair removal sticks to your bikini area, targeting hair along the sides of and above the pubic area. In other words, this is the area that falls outside of your panty line.
  • Full Brazilian laser hair removal removes ALL of your pubic hair, including the labia and perianal regions. Some clients may want to remove all of the hair in the front, while others prefer to leave a landing strip. The decision is completely yours!
